Rowan

Rowan is a very interesting tree in folklore. According to European mythology and folklore, mountain-ash protects from evil spirits, witches and fairies, so it planted near a gate or front door or hung a branch over the jamb. The tree was also called "traveller's tree". The rowan branch prevents travelers from getting lost and protects from evil spirits.
